Wayne Carlton Reid, Jr., born on December 13th, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, to Kathleen Noreiga
and Wayne Carlton Reid, Sr., passed away on March 25th, 2025, at the age of 49. He was the eldest
of six siblings: Ishmael Awong, Seba Osborne, Samayah Woods, Shaka Woods and Jelani Reid.
Wayne, affectionately known as Qaidhar and Avion, attended the New York City Public School System,
graduating from Martin Luther King High School in 1994. Throughout his life, Wayne was a devoted
father to his three children: Sheyenne Reid, Avion Reid, and Kayden Miller. Wayne leaves to cherish
his partner of over 20 years, Takiyah Miller.
A passionate traveler, Wayne’s adventures took him to places like Trinidad and Tobago, St. Croix,
Jamaica, and Australia. His love for music was equally profound; he began playing the Steel Pan at
just 12 years old, joining the Band Pan Rebels for about three years, where he played the Tenor
pan. A gifted artist, Wayne had an incredible ability to write music, often coming up with lyrics
on the spot, no matter the beat, and was known for his lyrical flow and creative metaphors.
Wayne leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, humor, creativity, and style. He will be dearly
missed by his children, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
With heartfelt love, The Family.
