In Loving Memory of Thrina "Tracey" Lewis
Thrina Lewis, affectionately known as Tracey or Trace, was born on February 17, 1988, in the family home in Grand Bras, St. Andrews, Grenada, West Indies. She passed away on December 22, 2024, in Manhattan, New York City, at the age of 36.
From the moment she entered the world, Tracey brought joy and love to everyone around her. Her full, radiant cheeks and infectious smile made her the heart of her family. She began her education at Ford Preschool and continued to St. Andrews Methodist Primary School, where her intelligence and dedication shone brightly. Excelling in her Common Entrance Exam, Tracey earned a place at St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School, where she thrived both academically and personally. Tracey was honored to serve as a prefect, guiding her peers with kindness and responsibility. She was also an integral member of the school’s Band and Drum Corps, where her spirited drumbeats energized and inspired everyone. Her talent and determination made her a beloved presence throughout her school years.
In 2005, Tracey graduated with distinction and went on to attend TA Marryshow College in St. George’s, where she earned a secretarial certificate and Buisness Management degree. She began her professional journey in 2007 at Bryden & Minors/ACE Hardware. Her exceptional work ethic, dependability, and remarkable computer skills quickly made her a trusted colleague and the go-to person for many managers. Tracey was admired for her dedication, teamwork, and unwavering willingness to help others achieve their goals.
In 2011, Tracey welcomed her greatest blessing—her beautiful daughter, Talia. Talia became the light of Tracey’s life, and she embraced motherhood with unconditional love, raising her daughter to be kind, humble, and courageous.
In 2016, Tracey faced an unexpected illness with strength and resilience. Though her condition affected her physically, her mind and spirit remained sharp and unwavering. She cherished visits from family and friends, her smile lighting up the room as she eagerly listened to the latest family news. Tracey’s courage, determination, and faith were truly inspirational, and she was blessed to witness her daughter’s growth for another eight precious years.
Tracey was a vibrant soul who loved life’s simple joys. She found happiness in swimming, driving stick-shift cars through the picturesque mountains of Grenada, and indulging in her passion for car racing. She loved spending time with her family and friends, always bringing warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness. Fierce, strong, and compassionate, Tracey never hesitated to stand up for what was right, leaving a legacy of kindness and strength.
Tracey is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Talia; her parents, Julian and Velma; her siblings, Neron, Ammika, Donelle, Jillian, and Osborne; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Annette; her brothers-in-law, Edward and Carl; her nieces and nephews, Adelina, Kolten, Arabella, Orje, Jeremiah, Jaheim, and Jada; her great-aunts and great-uncles, Albie and Becca; her aunts and uncles, Londa, Cynthia, Susan, Annette, Norris, Peter, Leslie, and Cherry-Ann; as well as many close cousins, friends, and family.
Although Tracey is no longer with us in body, her loving spirit and beautiful memories will forever live on in our hearts. She will always be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
