Samuel Jordan

April 13, 1935 — August 11, 2021

Samuel Arthur Jordan was born April 13th, 1935 in St. Andrew, Barbados, W I, to the late Agatha Jodan and Simon Spencer. He was called home on Wednesday August 11th, 2021 at the age of 86.

He was a carpenter and joiner by trade in Barbados, working for Nichols and Edgill, building furniture and kitchens, etc. He later joined the Rockets, a motorcycle stunt rider group. He did this for a few years, then he came to the USA in 1963 to cut canes in Florida and again in 1964 to pick fruits and vegetables. In 1969 he returned to the USA as a permanent resident and gained his license as a contractor in New Jersey. He then worked on his craft, building kitchens, bathrooms, and refinishing basements, etc. And one year later our house was sold and we moved to Fairfield Road, never dreaming that we were getting ready to migrate to the States. In 1970, Ann, came in on a Student Visa, and in 1972 my mom, myself, and two of my brothers migrated to the States, 1974 the other siblings came, and in 1975, my grandmother (his mom) came. My father wasn’t easy or perfect, but we all have to thank God for what  he did for us, teaching us to work for what we wanted while in School, giving us an opportunity that we could not have attained otherwise with the help of God.

The husband of the late Gloria V. Jordan. This union produce seven children, Maureen Ann Bance, Lolita Pat. Deronvil, Samuel A Jr., and Ricardo Dave Jordan, Roseanne George, and the late Jefferson ans Sonia Jordan, and Terry Larrier of Barbados.

Grandfather of Sharifa, Jackie, Niema, Ricky, Beverly Ann, Stephanie, Tremayne, Jessica, Natasha, Omar, Milan, Aisha, Chakaia, Kristopher, Christina, and Navia and the late Noreen Farrell.

Great Grandfather of Zakkiyah, Siddiq, Nadheer, Aqueelah, Zade, Zarryn, Zaire, Quasim, Tavion, Jada, Juniel, Jalen, Caanan, and 13 others, a total of 26. Also a great, great granddaughter.
