Rosalie Quinn, daughter of the late Harold Barbour and Marie Clark-Barbour, was born on December 4, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York.
“Rosie” as she was lovingly called by family and friends, attended NYC Public Schools, and graduated in 1948 from Girl’s High School which is currently known as Prospect Heights H.S.
In 1951, Rosie married her neighborhood sweetheart, Fred Quinn Sr. who proceeded her in death in 1998. Their union was blessed with three children: Fred Quinn, Jr., Paulette Quinn-Taylor, and Quentin Quinn.
From 1957-1965 Rosie began working for Pfizer & Squibb Pharmaceutical companies. After the birth of Quentin, she resigned to care for her children. In 1970 she re-entered the work force and worked for 10 years employed by NYC Department of Social Service (currently Dept. of Human Resources). In 1981-1998 she became a Certified Home Health Aide. Receiving several awards for her outstanding dedication in the care of the elderly and disabled.
Rosie was honest, generous, and caring and the life of any party. Her humor attracted people and she will be remembered for her wit and feistiness. She had the ability to think quick on her feet.
With her departure, Rosalie leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children: Freddie, Paulette and Quentin; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Quinn; five grandchildren: Malik, Ebony, Andrea, Taylor and Jasmine. Six great-grandchildren; Hallie, Mayaysia, Evan, Cayden, Tyshawn and Mia. Two great-great-grandchildren Mattie and Araceli.
