Lori Green

June 30, 1962 — June 7, 2021

Lori Mapp-Green , 58, went on to be with our Lord on Monday, June 7, 2021.  Lori was born to Beverly Ann Mapp and James Mapp on June 30, 1962 at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. After graduating from South Shore High School, she went onto SUNY Old Westbury and Howard University in Washington, D.C. It was there she met and fell in love with the love of her life Theodore Green. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on October 13, 1985 and remained married for 27 years until his untimely demise in October 15, 2011. They were blessed with three sons, Enrico Green, Christopher Green and Chaz Green.

Lori lived and loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed partying and would often be seen on the dance floor in 6-inch heels dancing without missing a beat, all night long. She enjoyed travelling across the world and experiencing different cultures, shopping, and dressing in her finest. Lori believed in family and spending quality time with them. She would often find ways of bringing everyone together showcasing her excellent cooking skills, especially her famous potato salad. Lori D will be remembered for her beautiful soul, her gentle spirit, her silent strength, her bigger than-life presence and her dedication to her family and friends. She was a friend to all. Her love will carry us through to the end of our days. To her children Lori was dubbed, “MomDukes” and was a superhero and loving caretaker to all three of her boys.

Lori worked and retired from the Department of Corrections in 2005 and, from Delta Air Lines in 2020. She leaves as her legacy her sons, Enrico, Christopher and Chaz. Her parents James H, Mapp and Beverly Ann Mapp. Her sisters Chanda Mapp, Tinie, Niecy, Sharon M, Peninah, Chan, Thornette, Yvette, Brenda, Debra, Sharon L, Adrienne, Keisha, Rosa, Fern and Yvonne, and a host of friends. Sister-in-Law Victoria Green. Nephew and nieces Miles, Isaiah, Lola, God daughters Chanell and Jasmine and a host of relatives and extended family.
