Gwenith Elaine Marville, daughter of the late Iris Clinton, was born on October 7th, 1921, in St. Lucy, Barbados; she was the youngest of three children. Gwenith was a devoted woman of faith and a loving mother. She had a deep faith that was exhibited through her membership at Beulah Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years, devoting her time to Summer Bible School and many other ministries within the church. She graduated from Theology School in the 1970s in Barbados. She also enjoyed singing as one of her hobbies outside of her devotion to faith. As a dedicated homemaker, Gwenith cared for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love.
Gwenith will be remembered for her kindness towards others and her unwavering faith guiding her throughout life’s journey. Her legacy will continue through all those who loved her dearly.
On December 30, 2023, while at home, Gwenith Elaine Marville departed this earthly life peacefully and joined the ancestral ranks of her mother, her siblings: (the late) Verona Garvey and Everett Marville; her daughter-in-law, (the late) Joan Marville; one granddaughter, (the late) Anndria Yearwood; one niece: (the late) Dormeta Ward; one nephew (the late) Rashid Orlando Marville; her friends (the late) Violet Perkins (River Road Church Barbados) and (the late) Grace Speed-Moore.
She now leaves to cherish fond memories, her children: Bertram Marville, Devere Marville, Dr. Jillian Marville, and Roseann Marville; one daughter-in-law Betty Marville, one son-in-law Greg Watts; grandchildren: René Marville, Sonia Marville-Carter, Tya Marville, Nadia Marville, Jasmine Marville-Mayes, Tarik Watts, Tor Watts, and Olivia Ennis; great-grandchildren: Garrison Yearwood, Shane Marville, Alanna Inde, Imani Inde, and Riley Marville. Additionally, she was an aunt to Margaret Walters, Eulene Catlyn, Curtis Marville, Tanya Marville, Wolé Marville, Nadya Briggs, and five others; special friends: Claudine Callender, Amy Baird, and Sis. Lewis and a host of other relatives, including the extended families of the Marvilles, Waldrons, Jordans, Chases, Bannisters, Beulah Church family and friends.
