Evangelist Geneva Stovall, age 93, beloved sister, aunt and friend departed this life peacefully on January 20, 2020.
Geneva Stovall was born to the late Robert and Mary Stovall on June 25, 1927. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined St. Matthews Baptist Church, Matthews, Alabama.
She received her education from the Montgomery County Public Schools in Alabama. As a young lady, she along with other sisters relocated to Brooklyn, New York. She soon united membership with the Concord Baptist Church of Christ in Brooklyn, New York. As a devoted church member, Geneva Stovall served as Sunday school teacher for many years. She continued her Christian studies, teaching and ministry as long as her health permitted.
Geneva Stovall was employed by the Electrical Products Industries, New York, for more than 25 years. On this career job, she received much recognition for her attendance and leadership. After she retired from employment, Geneva donated her services every Wednesday morning at the Church Food Pantry giving away food to the needy. Evangelist Stovall was destined to serve God and used these opportunities to extend prayer and encouragement to numerous people. She loved God and love sharing God’s love with others!
Geneva (Little Mama) Stovall was the last living “off spring” of the late Robert (Whope) and Mary (Dott) Lewis Stovall’s family of 13 surviving children. Geneva( Little Mama) Stovall was precede in death by 10 sisters: Lizzie (Tat) S. Finley, Essie (Duggie) S. Corbett, Hattie Stovall, Martha (Briney) Stovall, Adeline (Sis) Johnson, Susie (Bamm) Stovall, Joyce (Honey)S. Wilson , Judy ( Luke) S. Lompi, Charlotte (Ida Red) Stovall B. James , Charity (Cherry/Lil Bay) Ketchum 2 brothers: Joe (Mann) Stovall and Henry Stovall Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted niece, Miss Celia Stovall, Brooklyn, New York: three nephews whom she loved dearly: Mr. Henry Lomponi, Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Toni Bartell, Nevada, Mr. Frank Bartell, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, special friends: Mrs. Barbara Carter, Far Rock Away, New York, Mrs. Gilda Gillard, Long Island, New York, and a host of other loving and caring nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
