Andrew Recaldo Stephens was born in Georgetown St. Vincent on March 29, 1957 to Ms. Louise Nanton and Mr. Joseph Stephens. Andrew left St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 1968 with Joseph and Norma Stephens along with his siblings Ruth, Naomi and Ken. They moved to England where Andrew developed a deep love for reggae music. Four years later he migrated to the U.S where he built his life and shared his love of music and culture. His passion and pride for his homeland was always present and he was a proud Vincentian. Andrew actively kept up with the news and development of his country and he was very excited to explore new places while revisiting old ones from his childhood.
Andrew was the most kindhearted and compassionate person life can create in its purest form; he loved people all the same especially children. He would give the shirt off of his back and the shoes off of his feet to anyone in need. His life pathway was always forged by his heart and not worldly goods. He loved music because it is the language that brought about unity and good vibes no matter your beliefs. He loved videography and photography because he had a love of capturing raw moments in real time. He was always ready to help and never had a “No” to give. If he could help you though your struggles, he was there. Andrew was the glue to so many things that life encompassed. He was a loving father figure to many and he taught what he knew. He personified what it meant to be kind to everyone no matter who they were. Our father was Wind, Air, Fire and Earth. He was filled with the love of God. Andrew was a solider in God’s army and now his love and light will live on forever with no limitation of flesh but will soar into the ethers and beyond. Andrew embodied what life is meant to be, a spirit touching other spirits beyond what this world can imagine.
Andrew is survived by his father Joseph; Children Jacqueline, Recaldo, Anthony and Chakaia; Grandchildren Tavion, Destiney, Matthew and Chase; Siblings Ruth, Naomi, Ken, Noel, Pat, Ruben, Michael, Georgette, and Gleana; Nieces and Nephew Natalia, Krissy, Sinitta, Tania, Zara, Antus and a host of other family members and friends.
