Alison Eureka Forde-King was born May 5th, 1963 in St. Michael Barbados, to Ismay Elaine Forde. She immigrated to the United States in 1976 and lived in Brooklyn, New York. She attended Clara Barton High School and New York City Technical College.
Alison went on to work in Home Development (Florida realtor), she was a cashier/associate at Walgreens, a nurse’s aide at Kingsborough Jewish/The New York Foundling. She was a barista/manager at Shelly’s Coffee shop in Sheepshead Bay, an interior design consultant with Home Interior, an interior design consultant at Gracious Homes in Manhattan, she was a gate/ticket agent with BWIA airlines. She was a wardrobe matron/etiquette coach of the Boys and Girls choirs of Harlem. She did all of these jobs in her lifetime. Before she became seriously ill, she was finally a Financial Advisor at Citibank.
Alison met her husband Lawrence King at Beulah Church of the Nazarene in 1982. A thorough courtship ensued. They were married November 10th, 1984. From that union birthed two beautiful sons, the oldest son Daniel was born in 1986 followed by Joshua in 1988. During the years that followed, she battled many health complications. Despite her health, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt. In 2006, she became seriously ill. It was at that time that she became the president of the parent’s football club at Grady High School through 2008.
Alison was preceded in death by her mother, Ismay Elaine Forde and eldest brother, Jeffrey Gomez Forde and beloved stepfather Winston Byer. She is survived by her husband of 36 years Lawrence King and her two sons, Daniel and Joshua, daughters in law Allison and Bianca. Her brother, Phillo Forde, brother Paul Forde & his wife Paulette, sister Julia Johnson and her husband John, and brother & sister in law Warren and Jennifer King. And Special niece (like a daughter) Doshia King, nephew Peter Sealy, and nieces Vania and Taylor Johnson and her great niece Amellia King. She is also survived by a host of more nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren especially Jenise and Brianna and extended family.
