Alex Antonio Rivera

Alex Antonio Rivera, son of Jessica Meza, was born on September 25, 2004, in East Meadow, New York. He was the eldest of two children and the protector of his younger brother. Alex attended H. Frank Carey High School in Franklin Square. Even after transitioning from Hempstead to Franklin Square, Alex graduated on June 25th, 2022.

 Whenever Alex wasn't working or in school, you could find him at home with his brother Jhalani. You'd find them playing video games or playing with Peanut, the beloved family pet.

Alex was very polite, he always greeted people with a smile, and a warm bear hug. He was very thoughtful and always willing to help.

Alex was a very smart sweet young man. Because of his academic determination, Alex received a scholarship to Lincoln Technical School to study automotive technology. He was scheduled to start in the spring of 2024, but God had other plans. Alex worked as a retail associate at Target In Westbury. He wanted to be an entrepreneur and one day own his own business.

Since it was just always the trio (Alex, Jhalani & Mom), Alex was responsible and independent from a young age. Always trying to find a way to help his mother, who at times had to work three jobs, to care for him and his little brother.

Alex enjoyed family game nights with his brother, Uncles, and family friends. Alex was very competitive and always wanted to win. Alex looked at life as a journey. No matter what he faced Alex always felt like everything would always be ok. Alex never worried too long. It was as if he knew something nobody else knew.

Sadly, on Wednesday, July 19,2023, Alex Antonio Rivera transitioned from his earthly life. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother Jessica Meza, his brother Jhalani, his sister Jaylene, his grandparents, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Alex had an infectious spirit and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
